Oak Park is a brand new residential estate in Tockwith, near York. We successfully completed all groundworks, including sewers and road construction, for the whole 130-house scheme.
We were fully engaged with other work at the time this project was due to commence. Concerned existing workload and commitments would compromise the level of service that we pride ourselves on providing, we initially took the tough decision not to take it on.
After running into difficulties with the appointed contractors, Linden Homes got back in touch, asking if we’d reconsider the project. Our relationship with Linden Homes has always been strong, open and honest, and in light of their awkward predicament and the timely completion of our other projects, we agreed to complete Oak Park.
We not only successfully finished the job for them, but also managed to complete it meeting very tight deadlines created by the previous contractor’s errors. Having paused work to bring the site back up to the health, safety and quality standards required and expected by Linden Homes, the build progressed without any further delays or issues. Our work was actually completed 3 weeks ahead of schedule.
We were delighted to be able to jump on this project and help our long term client, Linden Homes, get back on track to meet their proposed deadlines. We were also very proud and honoured to be entered (and eventually win) the 2019 NHBC Pride in the Job awards for this work. We’re equally thrilled to be in the running for the same award for 2020.
